Notifications Guide

Modified on Tue, 26 Aug at 11:50 AM

Notifications are automated emails that are sent to customers when certain events happen, like a purchase or an update to customer information. They can also be sent to your business’ employees for things like low inventory alerts. In the Marketing module, you can customize the content of each notification and also check whether or not customers are receiving their notifications.

You can manage notifications from OrderPort Admin -> Operations -> Marketing -> Notifications.

For a list of all available notifications and their definitions, please see this document: Notification Definitions.

Table of Contents

Editing Notifications

You can click the Edit button on a notification to customize the template.

The header and footer themes can be customized in the Designs section of the Marketing module. See below for more information.

The sender email must be under your domain for the notification to be sent out correctly.

You can use the BCC Emails to be notified whenever a customer receives a certain notification. For example, when they join a wine club, you can add yourself to the thank you email.

Placeholders dynamically update based on the context of the notification. You can add placeholders using the button to the right.

Resetting a notification

To reverse edits and return a notification to default, click the red X button.

Viewing Notification Analytics

Notification analytics are only available for notifications that have been utilized.

To view analytics for a report, click the right button. You can also click Notifications in the navigation bar and select Reports.

Notification Header and Footer Designs

You can add headers and footers to all your notifications, establishing branding in your automated notifications. Go to the Designs section, then select Notification Themes.

To edit existing themes, click Select. You can also add a new one using the third tab in the menu. You can apply a design to every notification by clicking Apply to all.

To learn more about the Marketing Designer, please see this document: Marketing Designer Guide.
