"Dymo web service is not started" Error for Dymo 450 Label Printer

When uploading a barcode template into the catalog manager, you may receive this error. Follow the steps below to fix it.


Solution

DYMO connect must be installed on the computer using the following steps:

  1. From the url http://www.dymo.com/en-US/online-support/, install the DYMO Connect for Desktop Windows v1.4.3 or Mac. The default installation – no customizations whatsoever.

 

 

 

  1. Once the installation is completed, verify that the DYMO service was running ( For Windows you can click on the right hand side of the taskbar to reveal the running apps and there you would look for the Dymo Connect Service icon and on Mac search for Activity Monitor)

  1. If you can confirm the correct software is running in the background, and still not working, you could try to look at the dev tools console in Chrome. To use dev tools:
    1. While in OrderPort admin, press F12 to bring up the DevToools console.
    2. Then navigate to the barcode page from the main window and watch the dev tools console

What you see below is normal and expected
