State Sales Tax

- State sales tax is where you decide which states OrderPort will calculate sales tax for. Every state that you ship should be checked.

-If you are not sure about shipping and handling being taxed set it to let tax service decide.

State Licenses

- This is where you enter your licensing information for each state that you ship to. Please note this does not verify that it is a valid license, and it is up to the winery to manage your license.

- If a 3rd party holds your license and ships for you, enter a placeholder license.

- Some states have shipping restrictions based on alcohol % or volume per month. These restrictions can be added to your license in OrderPort.

Sales Tax Rules

- This is where you can set up a sales tax rule if you wish to charge tax based on the winery location instead of by the shipping destination.

Tax Rates by Location

- This tab shows you the sales tax of each of your tasting room locations broken down by product type. These rates are pulled directly from our tax service.

-If for any reason these need to be changed toggle the Hardcode button and manually adjust the tax rate.

Liquor Stores

- This is specifically for the State of Alabama. Alabama requires all alcohol shipments to be sent to a licensed liquor store where the customer can pick it up.

-If you know if a Licensed store you can add it here as a shipping option for your customers.
