Using a custom URL on the Ordeport webstore

Most of Orderport's webstores use the following url format: https://yourwinerydomain.orderport.net.

If you'd like to remove the orderport.net portion from your webstore's url, you will need to provide an SSL Certificate and then host a subdomain for your webstore.

From there, Orderport will host that name on our servers and build your webstore using the custom subdomain. ex., https://shop.yourwinerydomain.com

1. Obtain an SSL Certificate

If you've already purchased an SSL, please provide Orderport with its certificate and private key (*.pfx files work best).

If you do not have an SSL Certificate, we can provide you with a request (CSR) from our servers.

In order to obtain a CSR, please send an email to Orderport's webstore specialist, Alexis alexis.n@orderport.net. In your email, please include the following information:

  • Common Name
  • Organization
  • Organizational unit
  • City
  • State
  • Click here to learn more about the certificate signing request (CSR) and explains why these specific details are needed.

Once this information is provided, Orderport's servers will generate a CSR, which will be sent to you as a .txt file. This can be used to purchase an SSL certificate from a third party of your choice.

Once you've purchased the SSL certificate, please send it to Orderport's webstore specialist.

Please note! You are responsible for the SSL Certificate's renewal. Be aware of your SSL certificate's expiration date and provide a new version to Orderport 30 days prior to the certificate's expiration date. Failing to provide Orderport with the SSL certificate's renewal before its expiration date may result in your webstore being temporarily unavailable.

2. Create a Domain Name & A-Record

You are responsible for purchasing or hosting a new domain name for the webstore. Domains and subdomains can be acquired through a third party service of your choice (Wordpress, WIX, GoDaddy, Squarespace, etc.)

The A-Record must be configured to point to Orderport's IP address: 23.102.128.174

The webstore's domain cannot be the exact same domain used on the main website. Using a subdomain would be the best option.

For example:

Your main website is WineryDomain.com

The webstore's domain/subdomain cannot be exactly the same, at WineryDomain.com.

Instead, the subdomain could be shop.WineryDomain.com. That subdomain is where Orderport will build and host the webstore pages.
